Garu (agricultural tool)

1.
Garu (agricultural tool) One of my methods of making instruments is to present old objects / items and reuse them as sound instruments or musical instruments, by giving them some Sound material on those objects. In 2011 news from television about the condition of the food at that time inspired me to meet the Garu (looking for, finding and processing it until the Garu which was originally used as an agricultural tool became a musical instrument) Garu is made of wood and iron with a length of approximately four meters and a width of one and a half meters. Wood on the rakes to stick rakes made of iron with a length of about 25 cm. This tool serves to flatten and crush the soil. The word nggaru is an acronym for nggadhahi rumangsa which means having a sensitive attitude, meaning that culturally there is the hope of a leader who is sensitive to the situation of his people. Repetitive chanting is a symbol that a leader must not stop opening the eyes of his heart and mind to be constantly sensitive. rakes are attached to a special tool and attached to a buffalo or tractor. The nggaru stage is carried out to smooth the chunks of pirated land. This stage aims to flatten the paddy soil before planting seeds. Approximately 40 minutes of live audio performance on this album is my adaptation process with Garu as the instrument, Garu forces me to live it, now and in the future. I recorded with this album in 2013 live with zoom H2n. Until I decided to release the album today, this album was neither edited or mastered. Regards Wukir Suryadi
